What is Neptune for?

Neptune is FDA-cleared to treat mild to moderate inflammatory acne in adults with blue light. Owners also reach for it as part of an everyday routine.

Which wavelengths does Neptune use?

Blue — 470 nm, with 850 nm infrared and a cooling finish down to 12 °C. FDA-cleared for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne in adults.

24 LEDs sit across a 17.28 cm² head — eight inner, sixteen outer.

How powerful is Neptune?

Neptune delivers 5.4 mW/cm² in blue mode, measured at the 2–3 cm treatment distance — about 2.6 J/cm² across an 8-minute cycle.

Intensity (mW/cm²) and dose (J/cm²) are the figures that describe a light-therapy session properly. Neptune's come from Spacetouch's FDA submission (K210545), not from an estimate.

The device is rated at 10 W. That is electrical power — what Neptune is built to draw — not a measure of the light reaching your skin.

Is more power better?

No — and it's one of the most misunderstood things about light therapy.

The skin's response is biphasic. Too little light does nothing. Too much doesn't do more — it does less. Published studies show cell activity rising to a peak at a modest dose, then falling away as the dose climbs.

It's worth knowing that Neptune's cleared blue-mode intensity of 5.4 mW/cm² is deliberate, and was reviewed alongside the results it produces. A bigger number is not a better session.

How long does a charge last?

30 to 40 minutes of use.

How long does it take to charge?

About 3 hours from empty to full.

Why does it stop after 8 minutes?

That is the session timer. Neptune runs an 8-minute cycle, then shuts off on its own.
